Introduction to PageBuilder Privileges

Organizations have the ability to manage more granular permissions in PageBuilder.

By default, if you have access to PageBuilder, then you have Read access, which provides users the ability to view all Pages and Templates.

A role in the Permissions Service can have any combination of the following PageBuilder privileges:

PageBulder Privilege

Description

Access PageBuilder

See a link to PageBuilder in the Arc Navbar and dashboard. Access the PageBuilder user interface.This is recommended for all users with any other privileges in PageBuilder.

This permission is required to use PageBuilder for Composer article preview.

Write

Create, copy, edit, export Page, import Page and edit Version. Edit existing Templates, export Template and edit Version. Add, edit, move, link Features or Chains, update Layout, Page Metadata, Page Content (Global Content Source)

Delete

Delete a Page or Template, Purge Draft(s)

Write and Publish

Create, copy, edit, export Page, import Page, edit Version, and Publish Pages. Edit existing Templates, export Template, edit Version, and Publish Templates. Add, edit, move, link Features or Chains, update Layout, Page Metadata, Page Content (Global Content Source)

Developer Tools

Access Developer Tools, which affect all sites within the organization. This privilege cannot be site specific. View existing Pages and Templates, export Page, export Template, create new Templates, and import Template

View Analytics

View site and page analytics

Create and Edit Resolvers

Create new resolvers and edit existing resolver configurations

Delete Resolvers

Delete existing resolver

Unpublish Page

Unpublish a Page

Manage Tasks

Access Tasks Workspace which allows users to view and manage WebSked tasks.

Note

This permission also requires users to have access to WebSked.

Edit Audiences

Allows users to add, edit, and remove audiences for page variants.

Note

This permission requires users to have permission for the Delivery Application's Access and Viewer or Content Editor.

Manage Audience Targeting

Allows users to manage activation and deactivation for targeted pages and variants.

Note

This permission requires users to have permission for the Delivery application's Access and Content Editor.

Examples for PageBuilder Engine (Fusion) Users

Example 1: You might create a Writer role with PageBuilder "Write" and "Delete" privileges.

  • This means anyone with this role can make edits to existing Pages and Templates, but they cannot publish those edits.

  • This role can delete a Page or Template, and Purge Draft(s).

Example 2: You might create an Editor role with PageBuilder "Write and Publish", "Delete" privileges.

  • This means that anyone with this role can create, copy, edit and publish Pages, and edit and publish existing Templates. It includes the ability to add, edit, move, link Features or Chains, update Layout, Page Metadata, and Page Content (Global Content Source). This role may also be used to review and publish the edits made by someone with the Writer role.

  • This role can also delete existing Pages and Templates.

  • This role will not have access to privileges related to Developer Tools.
