Authors
Authors is an application that lets you create, edit, and manage authors within Arc XP.
In Arc XP, authors are not users who log in to the system. Instead, authors are reader-facing entities who you attribute content to. Authors have bylines that appear on content and can be credited to stories, galleries, and videos. Because authors are not users, it's possible that an author is not an actual user in Arc XP. For example, if a contributor emails a story to an editor, the editor copies that story into Composer, and the contributor would be an author (but not a user), while the editor would be a user (but not necessarily an author).
It's possible for someone to be both a user and an author in Arc XP. In these cases, you manage the user's display name and author byline separately.
Arc XP also has an API service to programmatically create, retrieve, update, and remove authors' profiles. To learn more about the API, visit the Authors API documentation.
