Can Access to Arc XP Be Restricted to a Specific Environment?
Question
Can Arc XP limit access to users to only specific environments, such as Sandbox?
Answer
Arc XP allows for separate permissions configurations for each environment. Permissions can be restricted to the degree that no Arc XP functionality is available to a suer in an environment, however availability of the environment is not able to be removed for any users.
Arc XP uses groups, associated with each user to determine which Squads should be applied. The Squads determine which Roles will be applied. Squads and Roles are specific to each environment such as Sandbox, Production, and Development.
To limit a user' access to only specific environments you must.
Ensure that the default group does not apply any permissions in environments where you do not want a user to have access.
Create and apply groups in Okta and your IDP to indicate users who should have access to the environment.
Create or configure a Squad in the environment where access will be allowed to use the new group.
Associated the Squad with a Role in the environment where access will be allowed.
