How to Set a Geographic Restriction on a Video or Live Stream
You can now restrict certain videos, or entire categories of videos, from playing for audiences in specific regions. Geographic Restrictions can prevent viewers in a specific region from accessing a video or live stream, or they can allow them only in a particular region. Geographic Restrictions are configured on your Global Settings. See Managing geographic restrictions.
Geographic Restrictions for Video
Set a Restriction on an Individual Video
You can set a restriction on any video by selecting it from the dropdown under the “Geographic Restrictions” section of a video’s detail page. Once you select a restriction for your video, you’ll need to republish that video for it to take effect.
Set a Restriction on a Type of Video
Similarly, you can include Geographic Restriction on a video type, as well. This way, every time you create a video of that type, the Geographic Restriction will already be set for you. To add a Geographic Restriction to a type, go into Utilities -> Configurations -> Types and select the Type you’d like to add a Restriction to. The dropdown is at the bottom of the page.
Adding a Geographic Restriction to Live Streams
Adding a Geographic Restriction to a Live Stream works in exactly the same way as adding a Restriction to a Video. Simply select a Restriction from the dropdown in the appropriate section of the Live Stream editing interface. Once you save, that restriction will be active for users in all regions.
