Managing squads
Use the Squads page in Permissions to define which roles and user groups can access your organization's websites with specific permissions.
From the Squads page, administrators can:
give the squad a name
select roles related to that squad
select the websites assigned to that squad
select which user groups—configured through your identity provider—must be included in the squad
As an administrator of an international news agency, you want to create a squad called Latin America to enable editors from Mexico, Colombia, and Brazil to collaborate and curate content from that region.
To create this squad, you must assign the following:
Role - defines which application access privileges it has, such as Editor.
Websites - defines which websites the roles have access to, for example, Latin America explained.
Users - defines the users that access your system. You configure them through your identity management system, such as Okta Verify.
Procedures
To create a squad, complete the following:
Navigate to Permissions > Squads. The Squads page opens.
Click Create Squad. The Create Squad dialog opens.
Fill out the required fields:
Name - provide a descriptive name for that squad.
Role - select a role from the drop-down menu. The roles available in this list are what you configured on the Roles page. See Managing roles.
Website - select a website from the drop-down menu.
If your organization is a single site, the default website appears as the only option.
Groups - select the desired user groups from the drop-down menu. These groups are configured and managed through your identity provider.
Click Save Squad.
The Squad displays on the Squads landing page. Repeat the process to create relevant squads for your organization.
To edit a squad, complete the following
Navigate to Permissions > Squads. The Squads page opens.
Click
. The Create Squad dialog opens.Edit the Role, Website, or Groups fields to fit the Squad needs.
Click Save Squad
To delete a squad, complete the following:
Navigate to Permissions > Squads. The Squads page opens.
Click
. The Delete Squad Dialog opens.Click Delete.
