Configuring trending content integrations
Use the Trending Content page in Global Settings to configure either Chartbeat or Sophi to power the Trending Content dashboard within Arc XP Home.
When you integrate Chartbeat or Sophi here, the Arc XP Home page replaces the existing application tiles with a trending content dashboard so you can see what stories and pieces or content are most popular on your site.
The following Arc XP content can appear in the Trending Content dashboard:
stories written in Composer
galleries produced in Photo Center
video leaf pages produced in Video Center
Custom pages built in PageBuilder, search results, and other automatically-generated pages do not appear in the Trending Content dashboard. For example, your home page, your sports section, and your author profile pages do not appear in the Trending Content dashboard.
Additionally, if your content surfaces in PageBuilder using a URL or resolver other than the one generated by Arc XP applications, that content may not appear in the Trending Content dashboard.
Note
The trending content integration does not work in Sandbox environments becuase the content that is trending is from a Production website. You must configure your integration in a Production environment.

Chartbeat content analytics is a tool that provides real-time data about how audiences are engaging with your content. It shows metrics like page views, time spent on the page, and traffic sources, helping editors and content creators make quick, informed decisions to optimize content and increase audience engagement.
Use the trending content integration to connect Chartbeat data to Arc XP so that you can quickly find a URL, pitch a story, and plan the content.
If using Chartbeat to power trending content, note the following items:
When viewing analytics in Chartbeat, the data updates in real-time to reflect the latest activity. In contrast, Arc XP's Trending Content dashboard in Arc XP Home displays data as a snapshot at the time you open Home and does not update automatically. As a result, the data between the two dashboards can differ over time. To view the most up-to-date results in Trending Content, refresh Arc XP Home.
Chartbeat displays landing pages that the Trending Content dashboard filters out (in Chartbeat, these landing pages contain an "L" icon under the title).
The trending content dashboard works by matching URLs from Chartbeat to Arc XP story data. If a URL from Chartbeat does not return Arc XP story data, then those results are excluded. As a result, it may appear that content is missing when you compare the Trending Content dashboard and Chartbeat's dashboard, but it typically means that content was purposely excluded because it couldn't be matched to an Arc XP story.
You may also use Chartbeat to power Analytics within PageBuilder. See Configuring Chartbeat content analytics.
Sophi is a suite of AI-powered optimization, prediction, and automation solutions that help unlock the value of your content and drive real business transformation.
A digital news organization is gearing up for a major political event, and their editorial team is working around the clock to keep readers informed and engaged. As stories are published, they use Trending Content within Arc XP to track which articles are gaining traction with their audience in real time.
They notice a particular analysis piece on key debate moments is outperforming the rest, so they quickly promote it to the homepage and feature it in their newsletter.
Meanwhile, they identify a less-viewed story about campaign finance reform that has potential, so they repurpose it into a video segment for social media. By leveraging the insights from Trending Content, the team not only amplifies their most popular pieces but also finds new ways to revive under-performing content, keeping their audience engaged and informed throughout the event.
