What is an Arc XP Identity account

An account in Arc XP Identity comprises of two components:

  • a set of one or more identities for signing in to the account

  • a profile, which is a collection of attributes about the user that that user can directly make changes to

Identities

Each user account in Arc XP must have at least one identity that enables a user to sign in to the account. Users may have multiple identities with one account allowing them to use various sign in options.

Arc XP provides the following types of identities:

Type

Description

Google

The user can sign in to the Arc XP account using the same credentials they use when signing into their Google account.

Apple

The user can sign in to the Arc XP account using the same credentials they use when signing into their Apple iCloud account.

Facebook

The user can sign in to the Arc XP account using the same credentials they use when signing into their Facebook account.

OpenID Connect (OIDC)

If you have your own user account management system or are located in parts of the world where Google, Apple, and Facebook are not prevalent, Arc XP enables users to sign in using their credentials with those systems through the OIDC (OAuth) protocol.

Password

Arc XP can assign a user-managed password identity to the account that the user can use for signing in.

Note

A user can also sign in using a One-Time Access Link (OTA). The user can sign into their Arc XP account using a (limited lifetime) link received through email. It is not listed here as an identity because it is not possible to manage nor access OTAs using APIs or CSR Admin.
