About SSAI
We’ve enhanced our server-side ad insertion (SSAI) capabilities, allowing you to integrate high-quality ads into your video content automatically. Previously, our SSAI offering required you to submit videos with ad markers already intact. With this update, you can now manage SSAI dynamically using Google Ad Manager, integrating it with Video Center to stitch ads into your videos.
This enhancement lets you:
Automate SSAI by connecting your Google Ad Manager account to Video Center.
Streamline ad delivery with ad rules applied directly in Arc XP, eliminating manual ad marker placement.
Ensure a seamless viewing experience with server-stitched ads that play across all devices.
Improve monetization by reducing ad blocking and delivering personalized, targeted ads.
Availability: this feature is available as an open beta through March 31. To request access, contract Arc XP Customer Support.
For detailed setup instructions, see Managing server-side ad insertion (SSAI).
This release also contains the following bug fixes:
Users can now switch environments without issue.
When creating a new live event, the system now properly applies the default thumbnail set on live channel.

Release summary
This release introduces a refreshed video clipping interfaced based on feedback from Video Center users who need to quickly find precise in and out times for video clips.

A new filmstrip of the entire video enables you to quickly find the content you want to clip using visual cues. You can zoom in to find the exact moment you’re looking for in a long video file. Then, you can use the fine-grained clip controls you’re used to to find the exact in and out points you need, down to the frame.
Note
Only VODs that are encoded have a filmstrip. VODs that are not encoded show a generic blue bar.
You now have a higher-quality video while you’re creating your clip.
You can now control the crop area when creating videos in other ratios, like Vertical, which mimics a phone.
For more information, see Clipping a video on demand (VOD).

Kafka Client Upgrade - The Kafka client is now on version 0.10.2 or later, which enables support for producer record timestamps. Additionally, this resolves issues where the
timestamp
andlast_updated_timestamp
values on Video Kafka published records were not correctly populated.Live Video DVR VOD delete configuration - If you use Live Events and Channels with DVR (VOD recording), you can now request the deletion of VOD (Live2VOD) after a specified number of days. This feature helps reduce your costs by removing unpublished VODs. A nightly script deletes these unpublished VODs and their associated S3 assets. If you are interested in enabling this, open a ticket with Arc XP Customer Support (ACS) with include the number of days after which you'd like to delete unpublished VODs.
Bug fixes
We fixed a NullPointerException (NPE) issue returned by the Public Video API findByUuid API endpoint, enhancing reliability and performance.
We fixed a bug in Edit Video > Publish where users were incorrectly prompted with the message “At least one platform must be selected!" when attempting to republish VODs.
We resolved a caching error that impacted clipping live events, improving stability for clients experiencing issues at specific times of the day.
We have addressed an issue affecting the scroll bars on admin pages in Chrome. This fix resolves a problem introduced in the latest Chrome update, which caused some scroll bars to disappear.

Release summary
Gain deeper insights into your video and video ad performance like never before with our new Video Analytics Dashboard.
The dashboard is organized into three key categories:
Engagement: Track how your audience is interacting with your content. Access data on total views, video completion rates, total watch time, and more to understand viewer behavior at a glance.
Monetization: Get a clear view of your video ad performance. Analyze metrics like impressions, clicks, ads skipped, started, completed, or errored to optimize ad strategy.
Video Errors: Identify and resolve video playback issues. Review metrics on player errors, exit-before-video-start (EBVS) percentages, and other technical problems impacting viewer experience.
Note the following items:
We apply sampling to ensure performance for accounts receiving over 150,000 daily views. If you’re affected by this, Arc XP will contact you.
We have been tracking data since August 23, 2024, so you’ll have access to some historical data starting from that date, but no earlier.
The dashboard displays data from only the Powa web player and not from third-party web players or the mobile SDK. Additionally, the dashboard displays data from only videos on demand (VODs) and not live streaming.
To learn more about this dashboard, see Using Video Center Analytics Dashboard.

This release introduces several improvements to the clipping workflow:
The toast notification now persists after clipping a video. It disappears only after you click the link taking you to the newly clipping video or if you click the close on the toast. This allows you the flexibility to efficiently get to your newly clipped videos at your own pace that best matches your workflow.
The clipping modal now has both a Create Clip and Create Clip and Close button:
Create Clip - lets you continue creating additional clips of the Video or Live Event you are currently on, without needing to re-click the clipping icon each time you want to create an additional clip.
Create Clip and Close - lets you exit the clipping modal after you create a single clip.
This release also includes updates to the Master HLS Manifest to meet HLS spec compliance.

For instructions, see Integrating YouTube to Video Center and publishing videos to YouTube channels.
This release allows you to integrate only new YouTube channels to Video Center (YouTube channels that aren’t already integrated with Video Center). Your existing channels will continue to work, but now have outdated authorization.
