Managing WebSked publish window intervals
Use the Goals for content publish windows page in WebSked settings to configure when content should be published throughout the day to align with audience engagement patterns.
By setting specific time-based intervals and assigning publishing target percentages, you can distribute content more effectively across your news cycle. This ensures a steady flow of articles at peak readership times, prevents content overload during low-traffic periods, and optimizes visibility.
Goal percentages must add up to 100% in a 24-hours day interval; intervals must not overlap.
From reviewing your engagement analytics, you know that early morning commuters engage heavily with news between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM, while lunchtime sees a secondary peak in readership. Evenings, however, show a decline, except for major breaking news. You decide to optimize your publishing schedule to reflect these patterns.
Using the Goals for content publish windows page, you configure your publishing intervals.
You set 30% of the day's content to publish between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM, ensuring a steady stream of fresh stories for morning readers. You then designate 25% between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM for the lunchtime surge and another 30% between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to capture the evening crowd.
Finally, you assign 15% to the overnight hours to account for late-night readers and international audiences.
By defining these publish windows, you ensure your newsroom's content strategy aligns with your audience's behavior.
