What Happens if I Delete an Author from Author Service?

What happens when we delete an author from author service who no longer works at our organization? Will it result in their name on those articles no longer being hyperlinked to a bio? Their bio page no longer being available?

Deleting the author from author service will result in the author page 404ing and the author not being available for selection anymore.

However, all references to the author previously created will stay unchanged and if they previously contained hyperlinks to the author-page will continue to do so.Any reference of the deleted author on an article that has been republished since deletion will not contain the author anymore. It will still contain the unresolved reference of the author in ANS, but not the author ANS that is used to build any front-end components.Deleted authors will also show as empty author-entries in Composer and would need to be manually removed.
