Configuring WebSked notification integrations
Use the Integrations page in WebSked settings to connect with third-party messaging applications and receive automated notifications about your content workflow progress.
WebSked supports the following messaging platforms:
Microsoft Teams
Slack
Note
When a story with a pitch is published, the system may trigger multiple webhook notifications. This behavior stems from a known limitation in how WebSked detects publish events. The system relies on listening to a stream of events from the Content API and identifies publish actions by detecting transitions from “not published” to “published.” Due to the high volume of updates and rapid state changes, race conditions can occur where the publish status fluctuates briefly, resulting in duplicate notifications.
Prerequisites
Ensure you have the following permissions to complete the integration process:
WebSked administrator permissions
For Microsoft Teams:
Developer setup policy in Microsoft Teams
Azure Application Developer role
For Slack:
Slack workspace administrator permissions
As a news organization administrator, you must connect WebSked with third-party messaging platforms to enable workflow notifications. These integrations allow your team members to receive automated alerts as the content creation and publishing workflows advance.
You access the WebSked Integration page to configure these integrations. After configuring the integrations, your editorial teams can create custom notifications to streamline communication and maintain publishing workflows.
