PageBuilder Engine 5.x and Themes 2.x deprecation
Deprecation date: September 30, 2025
PageBuilder Engine 5.0 is deprecating on September 30, 2025 due to the end-of-life of the AWS Lambda Node.js 18 runtime. To ensure continued support, security, and compatibility with future enhancements, all users must upgrade to PageBuilder Engine 6.0 before September 30, 2025. Why is this happening
PageBuilder Engine runs on AWS Lambda services and uses Node.js 18, which will stop receiving maintenance and security updates on April 30, 2025. AWS is providing security support until October 1, 2025 (see AWS Lambda Node.js Support Timeline).
To align with this timeline, PageBuilder Engine 5.x and Themes 2.x are deprecating on September 30, 2025.

April 30, 2025 - Node.js 18 end of life; however, AWS is providing security support through October 1.
September 30, 2025 - PageBuilder Engine 5.x and Themes 2.x end of life
October 1, 2025 - AWS security support ends

After the deprecation date
After September 30, 2025:
You will no longer be able to select Engine 5.x in the Deployer when deploying a website bundle. Engine 6.x will be the only available option.
Existing bundles running on Engine 5.x will not be terminated or stopped, and your sites will continue to function indefinitely. However, if AWS unexpectedly terminates the Lambda, there will be no way to restore your site code using Engine 5.x. It must be restored using Engine 6.0.
All code changes after September 30, 2025 must be deployed using Engine 6.0.
