PageBuilder Engine 6.x deprecation
PageBuilder Engine 6.x is deprecating on June 1, 2026 due to the end-of-life of the AWS Lambda Node.js 20 runtime. To ensure continued support, security, and compatibility with future enhancements, all users must upgrade to PageBuilder Engine 7.0 before June 1, 2026. See Migrating from PageBuilder Engine 6.x to 7.x for detailed instructions.
Why this is happening
PageBuilder Engine relies on on AWS Lambda services. Specifically, the Engine 6.x family of versions require Node.js 20 lambda runtime, which will stop receiving maintenance and security updates on April 30, 2026. AWS is providing security support until June 1, 2026 (see AWS Lambda Node.js Support Timeline).
To align with this timeline, PageBuilder Engine 6.x is deprecating on June 1, 2026.
Caution
Key dates:
April 30, 2026 - Node.js 20 end of life
June 1, 2026 - AWS security support ends and PageBuilder Engine 6.x end of life
For details on Node.js and Engine version compatibility, see PageBuilder Engine release matrix.
After the deprecation date
After June 1, 2026:
You will no longer be able to select Engine 6.x in the Deployer when deploying a website bundle. Engine 7.x will be the only available option.
Existing bundles running on Engine 6.x will not be terminated or stopped, and your sites will continue to function indefinitely. However, if AWS unexpectedly terminates the Lambda, there will be no way to restore your site code using Engine 6.x. It must be restored using Engine 7.0.
All code changes after June 1, 2026 must be deployed using Engine 7.0.
