How to create an audience
Before you can begin to create and publish targeted experiences, you first need to create your audiences. To create an audience, click the Create audience button. This will then open the create audience/ Audience details screen.
Here you can name your audience, add criteria and define them, and view how many criteria your audience can have.

At this time the following out-of-the-box audience criteria are available:

Country criteria
The country criteria enables you to target site visitors based on their country. You can include or exclude visitors from certain countries by selecting Is one of or Is not one of from the dropdown.
Afterward, users can select which countries they want to target or not target.
You can add as many countries as you would like to one criteria.
For the country option Europe (generic), this will target users in European Union countries.
Note
A user’s country information is derived from the source of the internet connection. This means that under certain conditions, the information may be slightly inaccurate. Some examples include:
Visitors using a VPN from a different country than the one they are in.
Visitors also using a VPN from a different country may be served an experience that is not consistent with the country where they are presently located.
Mobile visitors are often identified as coming from a location that is different from where they actually are because their internet traffic is routed according to their service provider.
Visitors whose geographic information cannot be determined may not match to a targeted experience even if they would qualify for one. Should this happen, they will then be served the default page experience.
Device Criteria
The Device criteria enables you to target visitors based on their device type. At this time, available device criteria include:
Mobile
Tablet
Wireless Device
Wireless devices are any wireless devices like a mobile phone or tablet. A desktop or laptop is not considered a wireless device.
You can include or exclude visitors by their device type, selecting Is or Is not.
Cookie criteria
The Cookie criteria enables you to target site visitors based on if they have a defined cookie name and cookie value.
Note
You must ensure that any audiences you create based on cookies are consistent with your users' preferences and applicable law.
When adding cookie criteria, you will need to input the following information into the required fields:
Name: name of the cookie to match on
Value: cookie value to match on
When creating a cookie criteria, below are some items to consider:
Each cookie name can only have one cookie value. Users cannot enter multiple cookie values in a single input field or have the same cookie name map to multiple cookie values.
Cookie value is a required field. At this time, we do not support targeting on cookie name alone.
Cookie name can accept any characters except US-ACII control characters or any separators including: () <> @ , ; : \ " [] ? = {} . white space, and tab.
Cookie value can accept any characters except US-ACII control characters or whitespace, “ , ; \ .
When creating a cookie, you can make it case-sensitive. If enabled, the cookie name and value have to match the case of entry. If case-sensitive is off, then the cookie name and value will match regardless of case sensitivity.
There is no limit on the size of your cookie.
Multi-criteria audiences
Adding multiple criteria to an audience allows you to target your users more narrowly and deliver more tailored experiences. The number of criteria available varies based on your contract.
Once you’ve created an audience, you can apply them to your curated PageBuilder Editor pages.
How to manage your audiences
Edit an audience
At this time, we do not support the ability to edit an existing audience. If you need to modify the audience criteria, create a new audience with your updated criteria.
Delete an audience
If an audience is applied to a PageBuilder Editor page variant, it cannot be deleted. To delete an audience, it must not be on any page variants that are queued for activation, undergoing activation, or activated.
To delete an audience, you can do it from the Audience Manager list view using the overflow menu or from the audience detail view.
