Defining your customers' password settings

Use the Password settings page in Subscriptions Settings to define the security requirements your customers must meet when creating or changing their passwords. These settings increase account security, protect user data, and comply with industry best practices.

If your users try to create or change a password that does not meet the requirements, the system prevents them from continuing.

Procedure

To configure password settings, complete the following:

  1. Navigate to Subscriptions > Settings > Identity > Password settings.

  2. Set the following minimum values that users must include when creating passwords:

    • Minimum length - set the minimum character count.

    • Special characters - specify the minimum number of special characters. These non-alphanumeric characters can include punctuation marks, such as ? and other symbols, like %, $, &, or @.

    • Lowercase characters - enter the minimum number of lowercase characters.

    • Uppercase characters - enter the minimum number of uppercase characters.

    • Numerical characters - enter the minimum number of numerical characters.

  3. Click Save.
