Adding CDP user segments
Use the Customer Data Platform (CDP) User Segments page in Subscription Settings to reference audience groups that are already defined in your CDP. Arc XP does not create or categorize user segments; it simply pulls in the segments from your CDP so they can be applied to content targeting and metering rules.
By connecting CDP user segments with Arc XP's Paywall, you can:
apply existing audience segments to paywall rules. See Configuring paywall rules.
streamline registration processes. See Implementing Arc XP Identity Flows for Registration and Access.
optimize when and how subscription offers are shown to users. See ???.
As a digital subscription administrator, you want to show subscription offers to your morning readers.
To do this, you first create a user segment in your CDP for those who frequently visit during morning hours. You name the segment Morning Reader
and assign it the value MORNING_VISIT_SEG
within your CDP.
After Arc XP pulls in this segment, you can create paywall rules that specifically target Morning Reader
users and display customize subscription offers to them.
Procedure
To set your CDP user segments, complete the following:
Navigate to Subscriptions > Settings > Offers > CDP User Segments. The CDP User Segments page opens.
Enter a Value and Name for your segment.
The Value must match your CDP provider's value.
The Name is a custom value you assign to categorize your CDP user segment when you add them to your paywall rules.
Click Add segment.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 to add as many CDP user segments as needed.
Click Save settings.
After setting these segments, you can proceed and configure your paywall rules. To learn more, see Arc XP Paywall: Customer Segmentation Targeting.
