# Themes 3 deprecation notice

Source: https://docs.arcxp.com/en/resources/arc-xp-breaking-changes---deprecations/themes-3-deprecation-notice.html

Deprecation date: **June 1, 2026**

**Why this is happening?**

Arc XP is deprecating Themes 3 on June 1, 2026, ahead of the AWS Lambda Node.js 20 runtime end-of-life. Because Themes 3 runs on PageBuilder Engine 6, which depends on Node.js 20, it will no longer receive security or maintenance updates after that date.

**What you need to do**

To remain on a supported and secure platform, customers need to [migrate to PageBuilder Engine 7](https://dev.arcxp.com/pagebuilder-engine/how-to-guides/migration-guides/migrating-from-pagebuilder-engine-6x-to-7x/) and Themes 4, which use the modern Node.js 22 and React 19 runtimes. This change ensures Arc XP continues to provide a stable, fast, and secure environment.

See [Upgrade to Themes v4](https://dev.arcxp.com/themes/migration-guides/upgrade-to-themes-4/) for detailed instructions.
